  In 1985, a group of parents, mostly school teachers, decided we could not put our children in the then exploding commercial national child care chains while we worked.
  As teachers, we knew too much; we valued the unique, precious, vulnerable and most important earliest years of life and could see what we thought was a lack of understanding of this early period in most of the national chains.
  So, we decided to do our own children's center.
  We were obviously different, no slick literature, every week staff training program (which soon turned into "Parent University" .)

  RDS is a Private Liberal Arts School, Home of the Oxford Tutorial Academic Excellence Program, Jumpstart and Junior Kindergartens through 5th grade, and a "Home of Parent University" school.
 There are RDS Junior Kindergartens and Kindergartens at each of our Children's Centers. 

  While our Oxford Academic Excellence Program focus's on each individual student's 
correct and appropriate academic placement, each student also is placed in an appropriate age and social grouping with a specific lead teacher.

  We warmly welcome all parents to the FIRST and ORIGINAL Parent University, started by Philip Adams in 1985 when parents began to outnumber staff at our weekly Staff trainings in our first Children's Center !
  Our extraordinary classes have been FREE since the beginning to all parents, anywhere....we sell CD's , DVD's, Staff Training Programs for Child Care Centers and Public and Private Schools,and many other items, but classes in person or via webinar are ALWAYS FREE.
  We do our classes in Public and Private schools at our  Private Liberal Arts School, Reston Day School, in Oak Hill, Virginia, in our Children's Centers in Virginia, as part of any hospital's new parents training, and via webinar anywhere in the U.S. or the  world.
