Programs for our Parents
Parent University
Parent University classes started in 1987-1988
at the request of parents in our children's centers in Montgomery
County, Maryland and Northern Virginia. Our parents wanted to know
what magic we had that their children behaved so well and learned
so much at our schools.
At first we invited parents to our weekly staff
trainings. We quickly found out it's even easier to work with young
children when their parents have the same skills and distinctions
that our staff have!
Parent University classes have always been free
to our parents as our gift for allowing us the privilige of caring
for their most precious possession; their children! (Or as we say
at Parent University, "their heart with legs...")

Parent University events.
Parent Helpers Club
Our Parent Helpers Club is designed to allow our
parents to spend whatever time they can assisting/playing in a classroom
(your child's classroom, if you wish)! You can spend a couple of
hours, a half-day - whatever amount of time that works for your
schedule!
Programs for our Children
The Fitness Club
The
goal of The Fitness Club is to support our children in learning
how to develop, maintain, and be responsible for their own health
and physical well-being as early in their lives as possible. Click
here for more detailed information about The Fitness Club.
TV Studio
This unique program provides a wonderful
vehicle to enhance our monthly curriculum by reinforcing basic skills
learning experiences. The program helps to de-mystify television
for our children by using important skills such as preparation,
scripting, cooperation, personal presentation and creativity, The
children discover that TV is completely man-made and not necessarily
accurate! Click here for more detailed
information about TV Studio.
Martial Arts
Our purpose for having a Martial Arts program
for our children is much more than self-defense training. When properly
taught, the Martial Arts are an excellent way for young children
to begin developing the life skills of self discipline, self and
body control, respect for themselves and others, as well as mind
and body unity. These skills learned early in life can last a lifetime.

about the Martial Arts Program.
Spanish
It is our goal to have a full-time Spanish speaking
staff member in each of our Preschool and Full Day classrooms. It
is the job of the teacher to speak fluent Spanish to the children
every day! Click here for more detailed
information about why we teach Spanish!
Life for Kids Gymnastics
By emphasizing purposeful fun and personal
success through a variety of well planned activities including tumbling,
vaulting, the balance beam, parallel bars, horizontal bars uneven
bars, still rings, pommel horse, and other specially designed equipment,
LIFE'S goal is to develop effective long term fitness attitudes,
habits, skills, self confidence, and self-esteem in your child,
as well as desirable fitness attributes including agility, strength,
flexibility, balance, and perceptual motor coordination. Click

Minds in Motion
One very exciting aspect of our Prekindergarten classroom is our
Minds in Motion Program. Children travel to other classrooms to
engage in specific activities in one or more of the following areas:
- Community
Service - Children actively engage in projects intended
to increase their awareness of their community and its inhabitants.
- Theater
Arts - Self esteem building and creative expression
is encouraged through pantomime, role playing, dancing, and production
of short plays. The history of the theater and its players are
also explored.
- Geography
and Cultures - Discovery of the wide world through
introductions to international foods, customs, land forms, and
mapping play. Investigation of the United States also.
- Environmental
Issues - Exploration and observation of the natural
world around us. Discovery of how people, animals, and the earth
interplay with one another.
