Before & After School Care

When the school-age children arrive at one of our centers our "B&A's" dive into a variety of creative projects intended to support academic growth and nurture creativity and self-esteem. The curriculum provides our school-agers with supervised homework time, support with reading and a variety of sports and group game opportunities. There are opportunities to discuss social skills while teachers role model and support growing peer relationships.  We provide parents the opportunity to have their children participate in extracurricular classes such as tutoring, martial arts and sports. And we invite guest speakers and specialty acts to our centers to entertain and interact with our children.

School Skills:

One of the great things about our program is that it is a place where children can extend their "school day" by finishing homework, researching projects and exploring different research skills and learning tools.  It is important at this age to support emerging study habits that will make a difference through their entire school career.  We use the Homework Helpers Club as a way to make homework completion "cool" and something enjoyable to do with peers!

Power Skills:

We have many opportunities to discuss social issues and invite teachers to role model and support the development and growth of power skills such as acknowledgment, responsibility, teamwork and respect.  We have also created Junior Coach positions in the B/A program where students work toward being role models for our younger students.

Physical Skills:

Our highly physical school age children love to participate in all sorts of small and large motor daily group games.  Teachers love to play along in order to encourage great teamwork, sportsmanship and problem solving skills.  It is a safe environment to practice sporting skills and to experience a variety of athletic activities.  They also have the chance to enjoy our fabulous Martial Arts Program and The Fitness Club as a part of their weekly activities!

Other Exciting Aspects of our Program:

The B/A class has plenty of opportunities to also explore Music and Movement and to learn about TV Studio to help them to de-mystify television and make them aware of their consumer habits.  They also participate in field trips, special events, and a re offered our tutoring services to work on the subjects that are challenging for them.
